PREMIER PINE STRETCHER BAR 24MM X 44MM
The Premier Stretcher Bar offers a narrower profile (24mm deep) while still being strong and stable because it is 44mm wide. It can be used to maximise print size for smaller format machines as well as being suitable for framing around the print with a traditional picture frame.
Like all of our profiles, the Premier pine stretcher bar is manufactured exclusively for us in Europe to very high standards from the best grade redwood pine which means that the bars are clean, dry and spore free as well as being strong and straight.
The bars have a lovely weight and feel in the hand as well as being super smooth which all contributes to a higher quality stretched frame print which can’t fail to be appreciated by your customers.
EDGE LAMINATED AND KNOT FREE - These fine quality stretcher bars are made from ‘edge laminated’ raw material which strengthens the bar and reduces the risk of the bar warping over time. We also insist that these bars are knot free as knots are considered imperfections that can weaken timber so we think for the quality conscious buyer it’s best to avoid them.
EUROPEAN REDWOOD PINE- Alternative materials such as Fir Pine, typically imported from China, have the advantage of being cheaper but tend to feel lighter and we find them more prone to cracking or splitting. They’re generally also rougher to touch and might be more difficult to put together which is why we opt for ‘real’ Pine and European manufacturing.
RESPONSIBLY SOURCED - Our manufacturer is FSC accredited; all of the pine we use is sourced from well managed, renewable stock in a country that enforces strict management policies. There are cheaper bars on the market but our customers can sleep well knowing their stretcher bars don’t cost the earth.
MANUFACTURING QUALITY- Our manufacturers share our commitment to quality so that our customers can enjoy trouble free canvas stretching. They use quality tools and workmanship to produce stretcher bars that are smooth and accurate which means they fit together comfortably but tightly to make the perfect stretched canvas frame. You should expect to use every bar in the box!
WOODEN WEDGES - Enjoy free wooden wedges with every box of our stretcher bars (2 wedges per bar). Plastic wedges are cheaper but they look it too so we’re all wood! With wooden wedges your customers know you haven’t scrimped and unlike plastic wedges they flux with the frame during humidity and temperature changes so it’s less common for wooden wedges to fall out, which can lead to a saggy canvas.
CROSS BARS - Cross Bars made from the same quality pine can be purchased separately to support your larger frames.
For extra convenience our Exhibit and Premier Stretcher bars share the same cross bar/brace bars. They can be seen by selecting the ‘cross bars’ tab at the top of this page. Customers typically begin using cross bars at around 36” - 40” for the Exhibit bar and perhaps around 30” - 34” for the Premier bar. Both the Exhibit and Premier bars are notched to accept brace bars from 30" and above and our compatible cross bars are notched in the middle from 30" to sallow bi-directional bracing on frames of 30" and above if desired.
